BlackFest is an award-winning combined arts festival celebrating, platforming and developing Black arts across Liverpool, Manchester and beyond.

Based at Toxteth TV, BlackFest creates events that support artists, creatives and communities — and we’re delighted to welcome BlackFest Live Lounge to Fred’s on Tuesday 9 June.

Headlined by Yoze and his band, bringing the hottest Afrobeats and Afrojazz sounds, with support from singer and rapper Ceeze, this will be an unforgettable evening of live music, open mic, culture and good vibes.

Expect singers, poets, spoken word artists, musicians and creatives coming together to connect, perform and celebrate community.

One of the UK’s most respected jazz bassists and a founding member of Mercury Prize nominees Gogo Penguin, Grant Russell is an acclaimed performer, composer & bandleader - he brings world-class musicianship, and exceptional improvisation.

HOPE STREET JAZZ PRESENT - MOD

A modern jazz trio bringing a fresh, instrumental sound to Liverpool. Featuring Oliver Charles (keys), Max Ng (drums) and Charlie Webster (bass), their style blends jazz with hip-hop & R&B, inspired by artists like Kiefer and Moses Yoofee Trio.

The On The Level boys returns to Fred’s for another pop-up event following their 2025 Halloween and Boxing night sell-outs.

The George Bastow Trio brings a high-energy, interactive take on jazz standards.
Expect Bill Evans, Erroll Garner and Chick Corea vibes.

DILLY - 8PM

Dilly is a jazz and blues singer-songwriter originally from North London, now based in Liverpool. Before relocating, she performed at renowned venues across the capital, including The Blues Kitchen. Since moving north, she has formed an eight-piece band and performed at a number of respected venues across Liverpool.

Inspired by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown and Ray Charles, Dilly combines soulful storytelling with jazz and blues influences. Fashion is also central to her creative identity, serving as an extension of her sound and self-expression. For Dilly, music is more than performance—it's a reflection of identity, emotion and authenticity.

Two days of disco, soul & house are landing at Frederiks for the second Bank Holiday weekend of May.

After the response to their early May Bank Holiday sets, and plenty of our regulars asking when they’d be back; ONTRAK return on Sunday 24 May from 7pm for another session of soul & house deep into the evening.
